It seems Real Madrid are prepared to cut their losses and part ways with Luka Jovic this summer.
The Serbian striker arrived to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer for €60 million as an initial backup option and a prospect of a long-term successor to Karim Benzema, but he has obviously failed to live up to the expectations. He made only four starts in La Liga throughout the season and he struggled with a foot injury through the month of June, when football came back in Spain from the lockdown. He was given a mere one-minute cameo in the 0-1 triumph away to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
And according to Marca, Real are now open to offers for the services of the 22-year-old former Eintrach Frankfurt forward. Head coach Zinedine Zidane was willing to give him time to adapt and enough chances to prove his quality, but his controversial behaviour during the lockdown seems to have changed his mind, as well as that of the people running the club.
