According to the Metro, Real Madrid could make a move in bringing Inter Milan full-back Maicon to the Bernabeu, putting a dent in Chelsea’s hopes of signing him.
The Brazilian had looked to be set to a move to Stamford Bridge, however Jose Mourinho seems keen to work up with the man he previously worked with at the San Siro.
The La Liga team look to be interested in the defender who has just one year left on his contract with the Italian giants. He was part of the side that Mourinho masterminded to Champions League success in 2010.
Chelsea are on the look out for a full-back and the 30-year-old seemed to fit their bill perfectly. Paulo Ferreira and Jose Bosingwa both left the club this summer and new boss Roberto Di Matteo will be desperate to bring someone in as soon as possible.
At this stage in his career, this is a massive decision for Maicon who will know he could only have a few years left at the highest level.
He has had six successful years with the Serie A team but now looks to be on the move as Inter want to build a young side that can challenge for the title.
