Real Madrid welcome Wolfsburg to the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash tonight, desperate for a large-scale victory to make up for their shock defeat in the first leg.
The Spanish giants suffered a 2-0 defeat at the Volkswagen Arena, and now need a convincing him on home soil to ensure they reach the semi-finals of the Champions League as expected. Real Madrid have averaged close to four goals per home game in Europe this season, and face a Wolfsburg side with problems on the road.
Having lost two of their four away games in the Champions League, Wolfsburg have failed to win eight of their last nine on the road in the Bundesliga so they may struggle to contain an attacking Real Madrid with multiple attacking options. Real need to win by three clear goals, although a 2-0 win would take the tie to extra time.
Despite the deficit, Real are still favourites to make it to the semi-finals due to their penchant for goals at the Bernabeu. As a result, Coral are giving odds of 10/11 for the Spaniards to make it into the final four tonight at Wolfsburg’s expense.
