Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte is reporting that Spanish giants Real Madrid have emerged winners from the race to sign the 17-year-old Flamengo sensation Vinicius Jr.
Voted the best player at recently played South American Under-17 Football Championship, Vinicius Jr has once again confirmed his immense talent and quality which dragged the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid hot on his trail.
Vinicius Jr’s blistering performances have drawn plenty of comparisons with his compatriot Neymar and it is fair to say that Real Madrid have gotten one back on Barcelona by winning the race to his signature.
Flamengo has reportedly accepted a €45 million offer from Los Blancos with Vinicius Jr set to join La Liga giants in 2018 when he turns 18.
The total worth of the deal is expected to rise up to €61 million with €8 million in incentive-related bonuses and another €8 million for the player’s representatives.
