Spanish giants Real Madrid and English powerhouse Manchester United are reportedly locked in a tug of war for the latest exciting product to emerge from Benfica’s famous youth set-up, Umaro Embalo.
Portuguese news outlet Record has learned that Los Blancos and Red Devils are going head to head for the 16-year-old who has been making big waves with his exciting performances for Benfica’s youth side.
Guinea Bissau-born Portuguese winger has had Europe’s biggest clubs drooling as he went on to score six goals in 12 matches with Benfica’s U-16 side before bagging 12 in 15 matches for the U-17 set-up.
Real Madrid have reportedly already tabled a £7 million offer in effort to snatch the youngster, but Manchester United are believed to be preparing a counter-deal to try and lure Embalo to the Premier League.
Benfica hierarchy, however, is thought to be desperate to keep the youngster at the Stadium of Light for a while and help him realise some of his vast potential in Portugal before allowing him to move on.
