Real Madrid announce deal for Marcos Asencio

Spanish giants Real Madrid have announced on their official website that they have reached an agreement to sign talented midfielder Marcos Asencio from RCD Mallorca.

Los Blancos moved to reveal that the 18-year-old had signed a six-year contract at Santiago Bernabeu, although he will remain with Mallorca until the end of the current season.

Real Madrid were locked in the battle with arch rivals Barcelona for the youngster’s signature, but they took advantage of the Catalans’ transfer ban to win the race for the talented footballer.

Marcos Asencio is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the country and he has shown a great deal of potential at RCD Mallorca.

The youngster was promoted to the first team set-up last season and went on to make 20 appearances in Spain’s second division, scoring one goal in the process.

He has been even more impressive this term, starting 14 league fixtures and scoring 3 goals to prove his undoubted potential.
