Real Madrid to bid for Kramer
Champions League holders Real Madrid are hot on the trail of Germany starlet Christoph Kramer, reports Marca.
Los Blancos see the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder as a perfect long-term replacement for Sami Khedira, who is unlikely to remain at Santiago Bernabeu beyond the current season.
According to Marca, Real chiefs have met with player’s agent Gerd vom Bruch on two occasions, which is enough to suggest they are set to make their interest concrete.
Christoph Kramer is currently in the final season of a two-year loan at Borussia M’gladbach, but his parent club Bayer Leverkusen face a tough task of keeping hold of his services.
It appears that los Blancos have emerged as favourites for Kramer’s signature and they are expected to make die Werkself an offer they can’t refuse.
Real Madrid extended the impressive run of results as they hammered local rivals Rayo Vallecano, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side now 4/9 for the league title.
Asmir Begovic on Liverpool radar
Liverpool are pondering a January bid for Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, Daily Mirror can reveal.
It is no secret that the Reds plan to sign another quality shot-stopper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet and they appear to have rekindled their interest in the Bosnia-Hercegovina star.
Liverpool were showing interest in Begovic last summer, but they eventually made a move on Mignolet as Stoke’s asking price proved too much for them.
But, the Reds could try and make things right in the January window and lure the 27-year-old to Anfield after all.
The good news is that Begovic has less than two years left on his deal at Britannia and should be available for £10 million.
The experienced shot-stopper has largely impressed since joining the Potters from Portsmouth, making a total of 136 Premier League appearances.
Benfica keen on Serbian forward
Portuguese giants Benfica are keeping close tabs on Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to O Jogo.
The Eagles seem to be in the market for attacking reinforcements and the Serbian forward is one of the first names on their hit-list.
O Jogo has revealed that Benfica scouts had the player watched in weekend’s 2-0 win over Gent, where Mitrovic opened the scoring in the dying moments of the first period.
The 20-year-old has shown a great deal of potential since joining Anderlecht from Partizan Belgrade last summer, notching 23 goals in 47 league appearances.
Mitrovic also played a key role in helping the Belgian giants come from three goals down to earn a draw against Arsenal in midweek, having earned a penalty before scoring the leveller late on.
The youngster has already earned 8 Serbia caps and is regarded one of country’s hottest prospects at the moment.
