Real Madrid close on Dani Ceballos

Spanish media outlet AS is reporting that Real Madrid are hot on the trail of Real Betis hotshot Dani Ceballos.

The 20-year-old has started to realise his undoubted potential and has won himself a lot of admirers over the last year or so.

Ceballos also impressed playing for Spain at the Under-21 European Championship in Poland, where La Roja are 1/1 to defeat Germany in the final, and his excellent showings appear to have convinced Real Madrid to make their move.

According to AS, los Blancos are close to agreeing a deal for the highly rated midfielder, who has a €15 million release clause in his current contract.

In an attempt to continue the good relationship with Real Betis, Real Madrid could pay a higher amount, while they also plan to loan Ceballos back to los Verdiblancos for a year.
