Real Madrid are considering Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison as potential attacking transfer targets for the upcoming summer window, according to ESPN.
Many outlets have been reporting for a long time that Real were working on identifying candidates for the role of the backup option and long-term successor to Karim Benzema. The France international won the Ballon d’Or last year and is still playing at the highest level, but time doesn’t stand still for anyone. Benzema is 35 years old at the moment, and his contract expires at the end of the season. He will likely be offered a one-year extension, to keep playing for the club while his potential replacement settles in fully.
Signing Richarlison shouldn’t be too difficult this summer. The Brazil international is currently a backup to Harry Kane at Spurs, and if the England captain ends up staying put, he still won’t be getting the game-time he craves and could look to move on. The North London club probably won’t stand in his way either, given that he’s scored only two goals in 29 appearances in all competitions this season.
Vlahovic is, of course, another matter. A regular starter at Juventus, the Serbia international is also playing his first full season at the club, but even though he’s two years younger than Richarlison, he’s netted 11 times in 35 games so far. The Bianconeri aren’t likely to accept anything less than nine figures to relinquish his services with three years still left on his contract.
