It may be Christmas Day around the world but Real Madrid are not taking a back seat when it comes to rumours regarding the movement of players to Real Madrid during January’s transfer window.
Aston Villa’s twenty-three year old forward Ashley Young has been targeted to join new signings Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Hamburg.
The offer is said to be around ₤25 million. Villa’s manager Martin O’Neill has told Real Madrid to lay off Young and that he is not for sale.
It has also been rumoured that Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant could be on his way to Real Madrid next week.
Pennant has been out of favour this season and has only made four appearances. His contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of this season and Liverpool is keen to cash in before he becomes a free agent.
The fee is being rumoured at ₤3 million.
