Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. The report has claimed that Liverpool have not progressed in their talks with Konate over a new contract, which has led to Spanish giants Madrid and Ligue 1 outfit PSG being alert to his situation.
Konate is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer of 2026. Liverpool opened talks with the France international centre-back over a new deal in October, but the Premier League leaders have not progressed to agreeing terms over an extension.
The defender has been at Liverpool since 2021 when he joined from RB Leipzig. Konate has become a key figure for the Reds over the years and is now one of the first names on manager Arne Slot’s teamsheet when he is fit and available. The Frenchman has scored three goals and made three assists in 24 matches in all competitions for the Merseyside club this campaign.
