According to a recent report from Marca, Real Madrid could pursue the signing of Erling Haaland – but only if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe.
Aside from letting Gareth Bale finally leave the club to rejoin Tottenham Hotspur on loan, Real had a pretty quiet summer transfer window by their own standards. Alas, that shouldn’t lead people to believe that they aren’t going to keep planning for the future – and that future could include some really big acquisitions.
Madrid have been going after Mbappe ever since his breakout tournament at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and it doesn’t appear as if they’re going to change their trajectory on that. However, if they can’t quite get that deal done, they will instead try and bring the sensational Erling Haaland over to the Bernabeu.
If they’re able to get either of those two men on the books, it’ll be one hell of a move.
