Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has suggested that he may decide to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign.
The 26-year-old is one of just a handful of players who were able to stay at the club after coming through the youth ranks in recent years, but he has made just 50 La Liga appearances in six seasons.
Nacho, nonetheless, managed to keep his place in the Spain national team, and he has a realistic chance of making the Euro 2016 squad.
Speaking ahead of the high-profile friendly against Italy, the experienced defender admitted that he was thinking about summer exit.
“Real Madrid is everything, but what every player wants is to be playing regularly and that hasn’t been the case with me,” Nacho told AS.
“I’m not going to be thinking about anything until the end of the season; my dream is to play for Real Madrid. If I do leave, it will only be to gain regular minutes but I am only thinking about Real Madrid”.
Nacho has established himself as a central defender, but he is also capable of operating on either side of the back four.
He has started a total of 10 La Liga fixtures, more than any other season, while making another three substitute appearances.
