Real Madrid are not giving up on Manchester United keeper David De Gea, according to Spanish daily El Confidencial.
Los Blancos are satisfied with their current goalkeeping options that include Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez, but with both players in the late stages of their careers, Real Madrid officials aim to sign a player who would be a long-term solution for the number one position.
According to El Confidencial, Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea remains the number one target, with los Merengues likely to make a move next summer.
Seeing as how Iker Casillas will have probably left Santiago Bernabeu by next summer, Real Madrid officials are slowly preparing an assault on the Spain international.
In spite of the slow start to his career at Old Trafford, De Gea has been producing very good showings for the Red Devils of late and luring him to Madrid will be no easy task.
The 22-year-old faces a tough task this weekend as Manchester United travel to Etihad, with the Red Devils no less than 13/5 to see off their local rivals.
