Spanish giants Real Madrid are considering a summer bid for Liverpool defender Glen Johnson, reports The Telegraph.
Carlo Ancelotti is not too satisfied with his current options on the right side of defence that include Alvaro Arbeloa and Daniel Carvajal, and he is in the market for a new right-back.
And while the Italian is reportedly showing interest in AC Milan starlet Mattia De Sciglio, he is also keeping close tabs on Liverpool’s Glen Johnson.
With the player’s current deal set to expire in June 2015, los Blancos plan to take advantage of the situation and try to lure him to Santiago Bernabeu.
Having spent last five years at Anfield, Johnson might be ready to consider a move to Real Madrid, especially since he is far from satisfied with the club’s latest offer for a contract extension.
Since joining the club from Portsmouth, the 29-year-old has featured in 133 Premier League matches for the Reds and scored 7 goals.
