Premier League giants Manchester City have swiftly ascended to the top of the Premier League table this season, scoring 40 goals in their 12 games so far, and Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has been one of the central figures in the Citizens’ success.
His exploits have unsurprisingly attracted attention from the super clubs of world football, and Pep Guardiola will reportedly have to convince the midfielder to stick around in Manchester despite interest from Real Madrid, according to the Manchester Evening News.
De Bruyne has registered three goals and six assists in this campaign, and he is already the main man in many people’s thoughts regarding the Player of the Season award. The midfielder’s success has prompted Los Blancos to ready a reported £100m bid to lure him away from the Premier League, and acquiring his services would represent quite the coup.
With the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos already dominating the midfield areas in Madrid’s games, adding De Bruyne to the mix would be a sure fire way to catapult Real back to the top of La Liga.
