It is no secret that Spanish super club Real Madrid have been interested in Brazilian maestro Neymar for some time, but reports this week have suggested that Los Blancos are eyeing the former Barcelona man as a long-term replacement for current superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Mundo Deportivo the Madrid club remain hopeful that they will be able to snag Neymar once their talismanic Portuguese legend hangs up his boots, despite the Brazilian’s recent £198m move to French giants PSG.
Real reportedly tried to sign Neymar before the winger made his move to rivals Barcelona in 2013, and his time in Catalonia has not devalued the club’s opinion of him.
The Brazilian scored 105 goals in 186 games for Barcelona and has already been tipped as the heir to the throne currently held by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in world football.
Any move that Real Madrid could manufacture involving Neymar would certainly involve an astronomical transfer fee, especially considering the fact that PSG only recently smashed the world transfer record to acquire the Brazilian’s services.
