Spanish media outlet Marca has suggested that Real Madrid have finally made a breakthrough in Theo Hernandez chase.

According to the same source, los Blancos have agreed a €26 million deal with Atletico Madrid, agreeing to pay €2 million over the player’s release clause so as to avoid paying the fee in one instalment.

Marca claims that Hernandez will be unveiled at Santiago Bernabeu at the start of July, and he will challenge Marcelo for a starting berth on the left hand side.

The 19-year-old was expected to return to Atletico Madrid after a remarkable debut campaign while on loan with Deportivo Alaves, but he surprisingly decided to try and engineer a move to Real Madrid.

This was not the only controversial decision Hernandez made of late as he also opted to switch his international allegiance from France to Spain.
