Described as the next big thing in Spanish football, the 14-year-old Las Palmas player Raul Asencio has been attracting plenty of attention in his homeland.
The midfield jewel from the Canary Islands has starred in the youth ranks at the Estadio Gran Canaria this season, drawing plenty of comparisons with Marco Asensio.
Spanish media outlet Marca reports that Real Madrid have been following the talented youngster for several months before officially approaching Las Palmas this week. Los Blancos are thought to have already finalized the deal for Asensio who looks set to join Los Blancos on a six-year contract.
Real Madrid attempted to sign the player last Christmas but Las Palmas rejected the approach.
However, the Spanish champions did not give up on the player who is expected to become a future Spanish star and therefore decided to step up the chase and wrap up their interest with a summer deal.
