Spanish giants Real Madrid are the latest high-profile club to have joined the race for Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt, Marca can reveal.
The 20-year-old has shown a great deal of promise since arriving from Wolfsburg and he is now considered an important member of the squad at Bay Arena.
Brandt’s impressive performances did not go unnoticed as Bayern Munich and Liverpool are hot on his trail, while reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid could make their move as well.
Los Blancos reportedly made a check on the talented footballer in yesterday’s Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid and they will continue to monitor the player’s performances.
After impressing while playing for Wolfsburg youth sides, Brand went on to score 19 goals and produced another 22 assists in 121 competitive outings for die Werkself.
While his current contract runs until June 2019, a €12.5 million buy-out clause will become active next summer, so no wonder that top European clubs are casting admiring glances towards Brandt.
Following the 4-2 loss in the first leg of their Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen are 9/2 to win the return match.
