Spanish giants Real Madrid are seriously considering an offer for Leicester City star N’Golo Kante, according to AS.
Los Blancos lack cover for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, and Zinedine Zidane hopes to add the France international to his ranks.
Real Madrid officials have established initial contact with the player’s agents and they plan to lure the midfielder with a lucrative contract offer.
Kante reportedly has a €25 million release clause in his current deal, but it does not apply to English Premier League clubs.
This means that Real Madrid are unlikely to face stiff competition for the 25-year-old footballer in the summer transfer window.
Kante had a key role to play in helping Leicester City achieve an unlikely Premier League triumph and he has slotted effortlessly into the France national team since.
The midfielder has started three games at the Euro 2016 finals and he should be in the starting line-up when Les Bleus face Iceland in the quarter-final.
