Real Madrid are interested in signing Khephren Thuram from Nice in the summer transfer window, according to Foot Mercato. The report in the French news outlet has claimed that last season’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners are keen on bringing the 22-year-old France international midfielder to the Santiago Bernabeu and have to pay £53 million in transfer fees for the youngster.
Thuram is one of the best young midfielders in Ligue 1 and has played once for the France national football team already in his career. Thuram has made 26 starts and five substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Nice so far this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists in the process.
Madrid are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 62 points from 29 matches, as many as 11 points behind leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona. Meanwhile, Nice currently find themselves ninth in the Ligue 1 standings with 45 points from 31 matches.
