Argentinian Gabriel Heinze is unlikely to make an appearance at the upcoming Olympic Games as Real Madrid refuse to cooperate.
Several European clubs have made life difficult for Olympic team coaches in recent days. Players as Diego and even Ronaldinho have not been given permission to go to Beijing. The latter insists on going however.
Heinze was selected as one of three dispensation players for Argentina, but coach Sergio Batiste might now have to look for a replacement.
At the start of the next season in the Primera Division, Real Madrid have only two other central defenders to work with. This is a good enough reason for the reigning champions to keep Heinze with the squad as well.
Batiste now focuses on Anderlecht player Nicolás Pareja to become Argentina’s third dispensation player, next to Juan Roman Riquelme and Javier Mascherano.
