European champions Real Madrid are said to be keeping close tabs on Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.
The 23-year-old England international has emerged as one of the key figures in Pep Guardiola’s side and his impressive performances have apparently caught the eye of Los Blancos’ scouts.
Reports from ESPN FC have it that Sterling is only one of the high-profile names Real Madrid are monitoring ahead of the January transfer window. The La Liga heavyweights have had a quiet summer in the market and are widely expected to bolster their ranks during winter.
After Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen – both of Tottenham – Real Madrid now seem to have set their sights on Raheem Sterling who is under contract in Manchester until 2020.
Sterling’s contract renewal talks appear to have broken down earlier this summer and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation.
Sterling made 150 competitive appearances for Manchester City in total, whereas he netted 23 goals in 46 games last season alone.
