The Euro 2016 winner Pepe is facing an exit door at Santiago Bernabeu as it becomes increasingly unlikely that the 33-year-old defender is going to extend his contract with the Spanish giants.
Portugal international has already received an offer from China, whereas his current club already have a plan in mind for a player which has been identified as Pepe’s long-term replacement.
Los Blancos are looking towards one of their own, towards the 19-year-old talent Jesus Vallejo, a Real Madrid player currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Zaragoza-born defender is excelling under Niko Kovac in the Bundesliga having already notched 17 league appearances.
His commanding displays have not gone unnoticed and Eintracht’s hopes that Vallejo could remain at the club are likely to be scrapped as Mundo Deportivo reports that Zinedine Zidane is already making plans to introduce the highly-rated prospect into the Real Madrid first-team when Vallejo returns to club at the end of the season.
