Real Madrid are pondering a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to Spanish TV show Punto Pelota.
There is a chance that key midfielder Xabi Alonso could leave the club in the summer as he has yet to sign an extension to the deal that expires in June 2014.
It is for that reason that los Blancos are already searching for a replacement, and they seem to have found their man in Marco Verratti.
The Italy international has come of age at Parc des Princes this season and proved he can successfully play at the highest level.
That has seen Italian giants Juventus and Milan express interest in his services, but Real Madrid hope to win the race for the talented midfielder.
Verratti, 20, joined the Saints in an €12 million move from Pescara last summer, and has since made a total of 30 Ligue 1 appearances for the club.
