Real Madrid are interested in signing Aymeric Laporte from Al-Nassr in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. Madrid are looking for defensive cover in the middle of the season following the long-term injury suffered by Eder Militao, and Laporte is one of the players on their radar.
Fichajes has noted that Madrid would have to pay a lot of money to get a deal done for Laporte. The former Manchester City central defender earns €8 million per year as salary at Al-Nassr, who will demand between €15 and €20 million in transfer fees. One potential positive for Madrid, who won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season, is that he is keen on a return to Europe.
Laporte joined Al-Nassr from Manchester City in the summer of 2023. The 30-year-old won the Premier League title five times and the UEFA Champions League once with the Citizens. The defender also helped Spain to the UEFA European Championship in 2024 and the UEFA Nations League in 2022-23.
