Real Madrid have Goncalo Inacio of Sporting Lisbon on their radar, according to TEAMtalk. The report has noted that Madrid are looking at centre-backs to potentially sign in the January transfer window, and one of the players who has impressed the recruitment team is Inacio.
Madrid are now short in the centre-back position. David Alaba suffered a season-ending ACL injury against Villarreal last weekend. Antonio Rudiger and Nacho are now the two recognised centre-backs for Los Blancos. Aurelien Tchouameni is being trained to play as a central defender despite being a defensive midfielder by trade.
Inacio has been on the books of Sporting since 2012 and has established himself in the first team of the Portuguese giants. The 22-year-old is one of the best young defenders around and has a release clause of £51 million in his contract. Madrid are aiming to win the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League this season.
