Real Madrid are interested in signing Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Sport. The report in the Spanish sports publication has claimed that last season’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Madrid have long wanted the attacking midfielder, and that his performances for Portugal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup have raised the interest of Los Blancos now again.
Fernandes is under contract at Manchester United until 2026 and is valued at €75 million. The attacking midfielder is one of the best players in his position in the world and is a key figure at Old Trafford. The 28-year-old has scored two goals and given one assist in 13 Premier League matches, and has played six times in the UEFA Europa League.
Real Madrid are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 35 points from 14 matches, two points behind leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona. Meanwhile, Manchester United currently find themselves fifth in the Premier League table with 26 points from 14 games, three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 15 times.
