Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen, according to AS.
The 21-year-old winger, currently out of action due to testing positive for COVID-19, is a product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy. He was promoted to the first team ahead of the 2018-19 season and moved to Leverkusen a year later. This term, he has nine goals and 12 assists to his name from 35 appearances in all competitions.
Diaby signed a fresh five-year deal with the Bundesliga side only last summer which, in theory, puts them in a very strong position when it comes to any sale negotiations, but it is believed that Leverkusen wouldn’t be able to keep hold of his services if some of Europe’s biggest clubs come calling. And they don’t come any bigger than Real Madrid, who are always looking to add exciting, talented players to their ranks and have apparently received glowing reports on Diaby from their scouts.
But even if he ends up leaving, Leverkusen are certain to do well out of the deal financially, with Diaby’s market value reportedly standing at over €40 million at the moment.
