According to Football Insider, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, with an idea of potentially trying to acquire his signature in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Though yet to start a match either in the Premier League or the Champions League, the 20-year-old has shown the full scale of his vast talents with six goals in nine matches across all competitions this term, most of them spectacular strikes. His high-quality performances for Unai Emery’s team have unsurprisingly raised a few eyebrows, and it seems Real Madrid are among the clubs watching him closely as they dwell on further improving their already formidable attacking ranks.
With Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo mostly considered his best attacking trio – all of them pacey players who can play anywhere across the attacking line, Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti might indeed be open to adding a designated No. 9 to his roster up front, just in case he needs to change his approach to breaking down stubborn opposition.
However, Real will also be aware that Duran’s services won’t come cheap, given that his contract runs until 2028.
