Reigning European and Spanish champions Real Madrid are enduring a difficult season in La Liga.
Trailing leaders Barcelona by eight points, Los Blancos will find it almost impossible to reclaim the title this season and are said to be working on possible reinforcement to boost their chances in the second part of the season.
Florentino Perez reportedly took matters into his own hands after a disappointing summer in the transfer market and Los Blancos have already been linked with quite a hatful of players both for January and June 2018.
Two new names that are currently being linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu are Manchester United midfielders Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.
The Spanish duo is edging towards the end of their respective contracts with Los Blancos and Diario Gol reports that Florentino Peres is keen to land them both on free transfer at the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho is unlikely to allow such a scenario to pan out, however, particularly with his team currently struggling in the midfield department.
