There are fewer and fewer arguments these days against Tottenham’s Harry Kane being the best striker in world football, and it is little surprise that the England international, who today reached 99 career Premier League goals, is being linked with a move to Spanish super club Real Madrid.
It is also little surprise, especially given the track record of Daniel Levy, that La Liga side are considering a world record £200m bid for Kane, according to the Sunday Times.
The striker has already reached the 20-goal mark in the English top flight for the fourth consecutive season, with 21 in 23 appearances this season, and seems like the only man for a generation capable of catching Alan Shearer’s remarkable tally of 260 Premier League goals.
Real Madrid meanwhile look to be in desperate need of a man like Kane, despite their 7-1 win over Deportivo today, as they currently sit in fourth spot in La Liga table, 19 points behind rivals Barcelona.
Los Blancos are a proud bunch, and the addition of Kane would likely get them back on track to challenging with Barca, as well as making them one of the most fearsome teams in Europe.
