Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda has agreed to bring forward the club’s presidential elections and they could now be held on the last day of the season, according to candidate Eugenio Martinez Bravo.

Martinez Blanco, who heads the Plataforma Blanca group, has held talks with Boluda and is confident that the current chapter in the club’s history will end sooner rather than later. “Boluda is downcast after events at Anfield, like all Madrid fans are. But I have already spoken to him about when he will leave so this negative era can be concluded,” he told AS.

“He has made it clear that the end of the cycle is close and has told me that he will not be standing and will not back any candidate the elections. The president has told me that he intends to bring the elections forward to the middle of June, but I have asked him if they can be held on the same day as the last game of the season on May 24 against Mallorca”.
