Real Madrid ready to make Aguero swoop

There are few who would argue against the assertion that Sergio Aguero is one of the Premier League’s great goal scorers, and the Manchester City forward could be set for a move to Spanish super club Real Madrid if Alexis Sanchez joins the Citizens in January.

Sanchez’s arrival would free up Aguero to leave, according to the Express, as manager Pep Guardiola would no longer require the services of the club’s all time leading scorer. The Argentinean international has scored 179 for the Manchester club, but this season his game time has been sporadic as he has been rotated in tandem with the talented young Brazilian Gabriel Jesus.

Real Madrid could certainly do with an injection of goals, which is a sentence I never thought I would be writing. Los Blancos are struggling somewhat in this campaign and are currently wallowing in third position in La Liga table, 10 points behind their eternal rivals Barcelona.

To their credit Zinedine Zidane’s side have actually scored 22 times this season, but Cristiano Ronaldo has just one league goal and Aguero could help reinvigorate their season as they look to retain their Liga title.
