According to a recent report from AS, Spanish giants Real Madrid have revealed that they are expecting their total wage bill to increase by a huge £55.3 million for their next financial period. This comes in the wake of a summer transfer window that saw them make six big new signings, with James Rodriguez also returning to the first team plans. The finances of the multiple time European champions has always been a source of great intrigue, mainly due to their overwhelming success – and the heavy spending which has come alongside that.

Real are no strangers to controversy and will meet this with force, and will likely get rid of a few players in January in order to ensure that they aren’t being viewed in a bad light.

Either way, though, the hatred for the club will continue to be on display, regardless of whether or not their success returns both domestically and in Europe this season.
