Reigning European champions Real Madrid are reportedly interested in bringing Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi during the January transfer window.
With Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Juventus this summer, Los Blancos have lost their cutting edge and only have Karim Benzema acting as a genuine striker this season.
And although the Frenchman has thus far done a great job to replace the Portuguese with six goals in eight competitive appearances Julen Lopetegui is looking to increase his options up front.
Don Balon claims that Real Madrid have once again set their sights on Mauro Icardi. Los Blancos have long been linked with a move for the Argentina star and the Spanish media outlet now reports that they will be submitting an official offer once the transfer window reopens in January.
The 25-year-old forward has enjoyed a prolific spell at Inter Milan over the past couple of seasons.
At the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign, however, Icardi only scored one goal in the Champions League and has yet to break the duck in the Serie A.
