One of the biggest stars of the Under-17 Club World Cup Rodrigo Rodriges is on the verge of signing a deal with Champions League winners Real Madrid.
The 17-year-old Gremio Novorizontino talent is already in Madrid to undergo his medical checks and sign a six-year contract with Los Blancos, Diario AS reports.
Regarded as one of the biggest attacking prospects in Brazil, Rodrigo Rodrigues hit the ground running at only 16 years of age when he was rewarded with a first-team debut against Santos in the Paulista championship.
The attacking midfielder was quick to display his wide range of talents and draw plenty of attention to himself.
Palmeiras were first to approach the Brazilian hot-shot and offered him a chance to play for their Under-17 side at the Club World Cup against the likes of Rayo Vallecano, Inter Milan, Atletico Nacional and Benfica.
It was exactly at this tournament that Real Madrid laid their eyes on the boy and immediately stepped up the efforts to secure his signature.
After he signs a deal with Real Madrid, Rodrigues will remain in Brazil until April 2018 when he’ll turn 18 and when he will join Real Madrid Castilla.
