Spanish giants have stepped up their interest in signing Newcastle United star performer Moussa Sissoko, who has been widely tipped for a move away from St James’ Park this summer.
Having seen their top transfer target Andre Gomes move to La Liga rivals Barcelona, Los Blancos have identified the French attacking midfielder as the perfect replacement and are ready to dig deep in their pockets to land the talented footballer.
Magpies are reportedly holding out for a £35 million fee, but Los Blancos are hoping to soften the deal and push it through quickly by throwing two loans into the mix as Mariano Diaz and Marcos Llorente could be sent on a season-long deal to Tyneside.
The Spanish side are aware that Sissoko is attracting a lot of interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, WBA, Crystal Palace and Everton, but the Guardian understands that the player himself has set his heart on a move to Spain.
The 26-year-old France midfielder has been one of the brightest sparks in Newcastle’s disappointing Premier League campaign last season making 37 appearances and scoring one goal in the process.
