Real Madrid are still looking at Mauricio Pochettino as their number one target, should they decide to replace current manager Zinedine Zidane. That is what The Mirror are suggesting this Tuesday, as Real Madrid have started the season in a bit of a turmoil.
Despite sitting atop of La Liga after five rounds, there are many figures at Madrid being discontent with how the team plays and the performances seen so far this season. The 3-0 loss against Paris Saint-Germain was the one that initiated the talks about Zidane’s departure once again.
Reportedly, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is a huge supporter of the Tottenham boss, and he was impressed with the Argentine’s ability to guide Spurs to the Champions League final last season. And maybe right now this move would make more sense for all sides. Real Madrid have more urge to change things now than in the summer and Pochettino’s poor start with Tottenham might make him think about leaving the club next summer.
