Real Madrid’s transfer policy seems to have worked in its bid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, but now it has turned its attention to another Poruguese winger, Ricardo Quaresma, according to reports O JOGO. It seems that Real Madrid wants to build an army of wingers as they already have Robinho and Arjen Robben in the team, but it is unclear whether they will manage to get hold of Quaresma.
Quaresma, often likened to Cristiano Ronaldo, is thought to be looking for a new challenge after his team, Porto, were knocked out of the Champions League ahead of next season. But it remains unknown whether Porto are willing to let their prized asset to leave.
The gifted winger, who is currently on international duty with his nation, will not be allowed to leave unless his release clause is triggered which would require a bid of €40 million. But the same O JOGO thinks that Real Madrid will be unwilling to pay that much for the winger as a majority of its transfer budget is reserved for Cristano Ronaldo.
Should the Madrid based club not match his release clause, other clubs including Inter Milan and Chelsea will be lurking in the background looking for an opportunity to sign Ricardo Quaresma.
