Real Madrid are said to have secured their first winter signing.
According to reports from Marca, Los Blancos have reached an agreement with River Plate and will announce the Exequiel Palacios deal after the Copa Libertadores final.
The talented midfielder is considered a key player for River Plate who are fighting for the coveted Copa Libertadores trophy against Boca Juniors.
The 20-year-old prospect is said to have agreed on a six-year agreement with Real Madrid, who believe Palacios is ready to fight for his place in the team at Santiago Bernabeu straight away.
River Plate have unsuccessfully tried to delay the sale or at least have their key player remain at the club until the summer of 2019 but Los Blancos believe the Argentine talent can bring a lot to Santiago Solari’s side in the second half of the season.
Real Madrid will pay €20 million to grab the talented midfielder whereas the personal details of the deal have not been disclosed.
