Real Madrid to bid for Lucas Silva; Paulinho linked with Corinthians return

hot-transfer-newsReal Madrid to bid for Lucas Silva

La Liga leaders Real Madrid are set to launch a fresh assault on Cruzeiro hotshot Lucas Silva, Marca can reveal.

Los Blancos were on the verge of agreeing a transfer for the talented midfielder in August, but they ultimately decided to pull out of the deal.

However, with Luka Modric suffering a serious injury and Sami Khedira still struggling for fitness, Real Madrid aim to lure Silva to Santiago Bernabeu in January.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has already given the green light and even though Cruzeiro value their star player at €15 million, los Blancos officials believe they can lower the asking price to €12 million.

Lucas Silva, who has a contract until June 2017, has just been crowned the champions of Brazil with Cruzeiro and it would appear this is the perfect time to move to Europe.

The 21-year-old has so far made 67 league appearances for the Brazilian giants, scoring 3 goals, while enjoying a short loan spell with Nacional MG.

Paulinho linked with Corinthians return

Brazilian giants Corinthians have moved to confirm they are ready to try and lure Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho back to Sao Paulo.

While showing some promise in his first season in England, the 26-year-old has struggled for playing time since Mauricio Pochettino took over, making just two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

This has led to speculations linking Paulinho with a January exit and his former club Corinthians are clearly ready to offer the footballer an escape route from White Hart Lane.

“If Paulinho succeeds in leaving Tottenham to return to Brazil, Corinthians will be his fate,” los Timao coach Joaquim Grava said at a press conference.

“The doors are open for Paulinho, he is very dear to all of us, and also to the fans.”

Tottenham splashed out £16 million to win the chase for the Brazil international last summer, with Paulinho going on to score 6 goals in 32 Premier League outings.

Barcelona want to keep hold of Pedro

Spanish media outlet El Mundo Deportivo has suggested that Barcelona have no plans to cash in on forward Pedro Rodriguez.

The 27-year-old has been dropped from the starting line-up following the arrival of Luis Suarez and he has revealed he would have wanted to have played more, especially in big games.

And with his current deal at Camp Nou running until June 2016, Pedro has been constantly linked with a winter exit, but it appears he could be staying with the Catalans after all.

Namely, seeing as how Barcelona are banned from signing new players, the club officials will do everything in their power to keep hold of the Spain international.

The transfer talk has clearly affected the winger’s performances this season, with Pedro netting just once in fifteen competitive appearances.

It is believed that a number of top sides from England are keen on their services, but a January exit appears unlikely at the moment.
