Newly proclaimed Spanish league champions Real Madrid will travel to Riyadh in Saudia Arabia to face local side Al-Nasr in a friendly on May 20, the club said Friday.
“The Saudi team will pay tribute to their most famous former player, Majed Abdullah, who scored 533 goals for them,” during the match, the club said in a statement.
Abdullah, dubbed the “Arabian Pele”, is the highest scorer in the history of the Saudi national team.
Al-Nasr finished fifth in the Saudi national league that finished in April of this year. They have not won the national trophy in 13 years.
The two sides last faced each other in the World Club Championship of 2000. Real Madrid won thanks to goals by Nicolas Anelka, Savio Pimentel and Raul.
