According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid are contemplating a move to try and sign Dayot Upamecano next summer.
The RB Leipzig defender looks set to see out the season with the Bundesliga contenders, but when the 2020/21 campaign comes to an end, it does seem likely that he’ll be making a change in his career.
The leading contenders for his signature have been Manchester United for quite some time, with recent reports indicating they will wait until next year’s summer transfer window before making an official offer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearly needs defensive reinforcements, but when you look at Real Madrid’s current squad, you could argue the same is true for Zinedine Zidane.
Leipzig will almost certainly demand a handsome fee if they are going to agree to the sale, but whatever happens, it’s clear to see that there is a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Upamecano to perform this season.
