According to a recent report from Marca, Real Madrid could be tempted to allow James Rodriguez to leave the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer transfer window for a low fee of around £22 million. The belief is that the Colombian himself has inspired this decision, with the former Bayern Munich star noting that he wants a new challenge.
He was close to completing a £45 million switch to Atletico Madrid last season before it eventually fell through, and now, it looks much more likely that he’ll end up in the English Premier League.
Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Arsenal and Everton are all reportedly in the mix in the race to sign him, but it may come down to who is willing to go that extra step.
Rodriguez has been searching for the form that put him on the map at the 2014 FIFA World Cup for many years now, and he’ll be hoping that the Premier League can bring him what he’s looking for.
