Real Madrid have made Newcastle United star Moussa Sissoko their primary target, according to Catalan daily Sport.
Los Blancos were shocked to learn that their top target Andre Gomes eventually moved to Barcelona and they have since turned their attention to the French footballer.
Real Madrid chiefs were impressed with Sissoko’s performances for France at the Euro 2016 finals and they are now determined to bring him to St James’ Park.
Los Blancos will offer between €30m and €40m for the 26-year-old midfielder and chances are they will eventually reach an agreement with the Championship side.
Few other top clubs have expressed their interest in Sissoko since the Euros came to an end, but everything suggests Real Madrid will win the chase for his signature.
The attacking midfielder was in excellent form at the tournament finals and he was by far team’s best player in the final against Portugal.
