Champions League holders Real Madrid may decide to cash in on star forward Karim Benzema at the end of the season, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Even though manager Zinedine Zidane has defended the Frenchman on numerous occasions, the overwhelming opinion within the club board is that the 27-year-old should be allowed to leave at the earliest opportunity.
Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez hopes to recruit Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season and Benzema is likely to be surplus to requirements.
The Frenchman has been in disappointing form this season, scoring mere 5 goals in 27 La Liga outings, and summer exit now seems on the cards.
During the nine years at Santiago Bernabeu, Benzema managed a total of 127 goals in 271 league appearances.
