Spanish giants Real Madrid are set to announce a contract extension for Sergio Ramos which will keep the defender at the club until 2021, according to the Express.
Ramos has been a stalwart in the Madrid defence since his move to the Spanish capital in 2005. Four La Liga titles and three Champions League winners medals later the Spaniard has cemented his position as one of the leading defenders in world football, despite his volatile disciplinary record.
The 31-year old had made over 500 appearances for Los Blancos during his 13 seasons at the club and has scored a remarkable 69 goals from defence, including some of vital importance for the Madrid club.
His stoppage time header in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, which sent the game to extra time, is perhaps his most important contribution as Real went on to win that game and secure La Décima.
