According to a recent report from Marca, Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in signing Willy Caballero from Chelsea. However, they will only go through with the deal if Keylor Navas does in fact leave the club, which is expected to happen as he edges closer and closer towards a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
While Caballero isn’t the only option that they’re looking into, it certainly seems as if he is the ideal back-up for Zinedine Zidane. They’ve also thought about Pepe Reina, Maarten Stekelenburg and Diego Benaglio, all of whom are struggling to lock down first team football at their respective clubs.
The keeper that comes in will be well aware of the fact that they aren’t going to see much time in the first team so long as Thibaut Courtois is fit. With that being said, the opportunity to pull on that famous jersey could be enough to lure any of them to the Bernabeu.
